The 61-year-old was appointed as the manager at Camp Nou before this season and talked about his ambitions, his contract position and coronavirus.

Barcelona head coach Quique Setien says he’s intending to acquire the Champions League and La Liga titles throughout his time in Camp Nou – and fantasies of shooting the two prizes back to his home city to showcase to the local wildlife.

The prior Real Betis supervisor was appointed Barca manager before this year after the dismissal of Ernesto Valverde, though he wasn’t the first option, together with former team captain Xavi turning the work until Setien was appointed.

The 61-year-old boss is optimistic, however, he also has set his sights on winning the largest prizes available to the club and then moving back to his residence as a winner.

“Obviously I have dreamed of winning those titles and using a stroll in Liencres [his hometown] one of the cows together with all the Champions League and La Liga decorations in my palms.”

Barcelona, who won the Champions League in 2015, was preparing to their last-16 second-leg tie with Napoli – with attracted the very first game 1-1 at Naples – if the contest was suspended as a result of coronavirus.

They’re also high in La Liga, two points before Real Madrid since they seem to defend their crown. It will, however, remain to be seen when and when the tournament could be declared amid the continuing fallout of this Covid-19 pandemic.

Setien, who signed a one-and-a-half-year contract before this year with a possible extension of the following 12 weeks, says he wouldn’t be familiar with Barcelona being granted the name automatically if the 2019-20 year is left handed.

But he admits the difficulty of this situation and how soccer should take a back seat till it’s totally safe to restart.

He explained: “The problem is exactly what it really is, I do not know whether this means it’s OK to provide to us the Liga name, so I will not feel as a winner even with a bigger lead than once I came when we had been equivalent with Real Madrid.
